Peter Ilic arrived in England during the mid-1970s, having spent three years training at a catering college in his native Yugoslavia. He first worked at Claridge’s as a commis chef before working his way up through the ranks in a number of renowned London kitchens. He opened his first restaurant, the Lantern, on Malvern Road in North-West London in 1982. Within a short period of time, he had opened another two restaurants:the Pigeon on Fulham Road and La Cloche on Kilburn High Road. His fourth restaurant, Just Around the Corner, was opened on Finchley Road, North-West London, in 1984. This is where he originally introduced the ‘Pay what you think it’s worth’ concept. In 1992, he opened his first Little Bay restaurant in Kilburn, North-West London, creating a new and original dining experience in London, serving great value European cuisine in our now trademark opulent yet relaxed surroundings. Since the initial launch over 20 years ago, he has opened three further Little Bay restaurants across London: in Croydon (1998), in Farringdon (2002) and Battersea (2003). He also has a Little Bay in Belgrade, Serbia. In 2011, he opened his sixth Little Bay restaurant on the Brighton seafront. Peter ILic then opened his first Foodilic on North Street in Brighton. And now he has two more branches at Western Road in Brighton and Pentonville Road in London.
